Andrei, a resident of Moscow, was searched in April 2025. After the search, he was taken to Moscow and placed in custody on charges of financing extremist activities, linked to his involvement with the Jehovah’s Witnesses community. Members of this community are prosecuted under Russia’s anti-extremism laws solely for their religious activities — holding meetings, conducting worship services, and attracting new followers.
