Artem Konstantinov

He is a resident of Murmansk and a student. In November 2022, Konstantinov said that FSB officers threatened to bring criminal charges against him for calling for separatism because of his several YouTube videos, as well as charges of discrediting the Russian military and allegedly inciting hatred.
The young man was detained on 3 June 2022, when he came to the university to take an exam. According to him, they put a bag over his head and put him in a minivan, where they forced him to unlock his phone and started beating him, demanding that he confess to working for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). After that, law enforcement officers conducted a search in his apartment, which was formally an “inspection of the premises”, and handed him an “official warning” about the inadmissibility of treason. Konstantinov was then taken to the FSB for questioning, where he was asked about his correspondence with his friend from Ukraine.
On 20 March 2023, Konstantinov’s friend told OVD-Info that Konstantinov had not been in touch for two months.
Later it was reported that the student had been charged with treason. According to the investigation, he entered into contact with the Ukrainian intelligence services and fulfilled their tasks. On 1 October 2024, Konstantinov was sentenced to 13 years in a strict regime colony.
