He was detained in December 2024 in Krasnodar Krai and transferred to Moscow Oblast as part of a criminal case concerning his alleged association with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Members of this community are prosecuted on extremism charges solely for their religious activities — organizing meetings, holding worship services, and recruiting new members. Mladov was taken into custody.
