Korovina is a resident of the Luhansk region of Ukraine. Her lawyer said that on 19 March 2024, two operatives approached her in the street, forced her into a car and took away her phone. After that, a case was initiated against Korovina, but it is not clear whether she was aware of the articles under which she is a suspect. She was given a recognisance not to leave the country. On 10 June 2024, law enforcers came to her home and detained her. She was charged with funding a terrorist and extremist organisation. According to the investigation, Korovina transferred money to the Azov battalion and Right Sector. According to her lawyer, Korovina pleaded guilty under pressure: she was threatened that her brother would be accused of espionage and tortured. Officers came to his house and searched him. In court, Korovina stated that she did not admit guilt.

On 17 February 2025, Korovina was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment in a general regime colony.

How to write the letter?

Getting started
What can I write about?
On censorship: what can’t I write?
Is it allowed to send photographs?
What language do I use in my letter?
What are the limits on sending letters?
Should I expect a reply and do I have to respond?
How do I maintain the correspondence?
I would like to send letters by myself, how do I do it?
How else can I support Russian dissidents?
It says that the prisoner I was assigned was tried for terrorism, or extremism or something else scary, what’s up with that?
